SE INAUGURAN LOS II FISU AMÉRICA GAMES, LA GRAN FIESTA DEPORTIVA UNIVERSITARIA

Mérida, Yucatán, México, a 15 de octubre de 2022.- El Centro de Convenciones “Siglo XXI” fue sede de la ceremonia de inauguración de los II FISU AMÉRICA GAMES 2022, competencia que se lleva a cabo en la ciudad de Mérida del 14 al 26 de octubre con la presencia de más de mil integrantes de los 12 países participantes.

Leonz Eder, Presidente de la FISU Internacional; Alim Maluf Neto, Presidente de la FISU América; Dr. Manuel Merodio, Secretario General del Consejo Nacional del Deporte de la Educación (CONDDE), Dr. José de Jesús Williams, Rector de la Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán (UADY); Lic. Carlos Sáenz Castillo, Director General del Instituto del Deporte de Yucatán (IDEY), y el Lic. Héctor García Antonio, Coordinador Técnico de Cultura Física y Deporte del IMSS, dieron la bienvenida a los atletas.

Las delegaciones de Argentina, Brasil, Canadá, Colombia, Costa Rica, República Dominicana, El Salvador, Perú, Trinidad y Tobago, Estados Unidos, Uruguay y México, desfilaron con sus atletas, oficiales y comisionados.

Una vez realizado los Honores a la Bandera a cargo de la escuela Preparatoria Uno UADY, el Lic. Carlos Sáenz Castillo, Director General del Instituto del Deporte del Estado de Yucatán (IDEY), en representación del Gobernador Mauricio Vila Dosal, brindó las palabras de bienvenida.

“No hay plazo que no se cumpla, en 2019 anunciamos que Mérida sería sede de estos juegos gracias a las autoridades y a que somos una sociedad culturalmente deportiva. Estamos muy contentos de que finalmente, tras la pandemia, se hayan realizado estos juegos en su 2da edición, de tener a más de mil atletas y más de 1,500 asistentes en nuestro estado, a quienes les pedimos se dejen consentir por la calidez de los yucatecos”.- mencionó el titular del deporte en nuestro estado.

Acto seguido, el Dr. José de Jesús Williams, rector de la UADY dio su mensaje a todos los presentes.

“Nos sentimos honrados de que la UADY sea considerada para ser los anfitriones de estos juegos. Ahora no solo el deporte nos da salud, sino como en nuestras vidas, se gana y se pierde influyendo de manera directa en todos los ámbitos, así que disfruten de su deporte y representen con orgullo a su país”.

Tocó el turno del CONDDE, en voz de su Secretario General, Dr. Manuel Merodio Reza.

“Es un gusto para el CONDDE albergar estos juegos, agradezco a todos los involucrados que hicieron posible este evento que se hizo con gran esfuerzo. Ustedes jóvenes son lo esencial y por lo que trabajamos, el poder competir tras su disciplina y constante preparación”.- Compartió Merodio, quien terminó con un “viva” para el CONDDE, Yucatán y FISU.

El Presidente de la FISU Internacional, Leonz Eder, también externó unas palabras.

“Bienvenidas y bienvenidos a los FISU AMÉRICA GAMES, ustedes atletas son el futuro del mañana, líderes de las próximas generaciones teniendo una buena comunicación en todas partes del mundo. Les deseo mucha salud y deporte para todos”.

Finalmente, Alim Maluf Neto, Presidente de FISU América realizó la declaratoria inaugural del evento, no sin antes desearle suerte a todos los competidores.

“En nombre de FISU América les damos la bienvenida y las gracias por ser parte de esta magnífica competencia. Estos juegos están hechos de ustedes para ustedes, así que buena suerte y éxito en sus competencias”.

El juramento de los deportistas estuvo a cargo de Magdalena Matú Carballo, deportista universitaria en la disciplina de ajedrez.

El LEF. David Carrillo, junto con la LEF. Ileana Paredes fueron los encargados del juramento de jueces.

Durante la ceremonia se presentaron dos espectáculos mostrando la cultura Maya, que incluyó un ritual y una demostración de danza.

La primera edición de este evento se realizó en Brasil, en el año 2018. Ahora se presenta en Mérida, Yucatán, México, con la oportunidad de presenciar un evento altamente competitivo, donde nacionales y visitantes podrán disfrutar de las maravillas que ofrece nuestra ciudad y estado.
